PCE Community Development Funding Request for Proposals
January 27, 2011
Dear Essex County Community Service Provider,
The Partnership for Children of Essex (PCE) is pleased to announce a request for proposals (RFP) to utilize no more than $25,000 of community development funding available through PCE. This funding is available for creating, expanding, and/or specializing outpatient mental health services for children and families in Essex County. PCE plans to award one (1) grant for no more than $25,000.
PCE is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting children with emotional and behavioral needs. PCE uses a Wraparound model of care to design, implement and manage Individual Services Plans (ISPs) that are specific to a child’s individual strengths and complex needs. The Wraparoundmodel of care used by PCE is an approach to helping children that is family driven and community based. Emphasis is placed on the strengths of the child, family, and community. A primary goal for PCE is to keep children at home, in school, and out of trouble.
The success of our efforts to help children and families is greatly dependent upon our success in developing new, creative, community-based services that meet the needs of the children we are serving. A comprehensive network of creative and dedicated service providers is essential in providing children and families with true access and choice.
Information about PCE and all of the RFP materials can be found at our website by visiting www.pcenj.org . On the website you will find all the information needed to submit a proposal to request a portion of the community development funds available through PCE. Please note, while the funding is being provided through PCE, the funds originate from the NJ Division of Child Behavioral Health Services (DCBHS) and any award by PCE requires final authorization from DCBHS.
All proposals must be delivered to PCE as instructed in the RFP documents by March 4, 2011 at 4:00 p.m.
I am very excited that we are able to help the children and families in Essex County by providing these funds and I look forward to many innovative and creative proposals. After downloading and reviewing the RFP information from our website, if you need further information, please contact the PCE Director of Community Resource Development, Erika Holcomb, at 973-323-3000 ext. 1009.
Sincerely,
Victor Alvarez, LCSW
Executive Director
